  • No feedback given. We are getting introduced by Dr Jin Chi what should we do in the next few weeks.

Week 2
General
  • Guys can start the assessment.
    1) Identify what research is an interesting topic?
    2) What is your Specialization?
    3) Research Topic?
    4) Research Problem?

Week 3
Specific

  • Well Done, Interesting Topic, now focus on the Research Objectives. Consider the articles you found, should be within 5 years from now.
  • Leave some of the previously found articles as a supportive document for introduction about your topic.
  • Any type of website that you want to highlight in your study?
  • Find 3 common categories of website that they usually accessed to.
  • You may do Critical Analysis this week.

Week 4
Specific

  • Proceed with what you have done. Analyze the article about its strengths and weaknesses. Write Down how it helps you on your task?

Week 5
Specific

  • Elaborate the Research Problem
  • Refine the Research Question
  • Complete your Problem Statement
  • Paste all the APA Link on your every single #CA

Week 6
Specific

  • Good job, this is an excellent job for the 2 tasks. Now, for your next task is to update the Research Topic in your proposal based on the info you gathered. describe the definition of web accessibility and what it means by visually impaired users.

 REFLECTION

Experience
Embarking on the Design Research Methods module this semester has been an enlightening journey, filled with both challenges and rewarding discoveries. The experience was generally positive, and I felt like I learned a great deal. Initially, I approached the module with a sense of trepidation, particularly because reading and extensive research had never been my strong suits. The second project, in particular, seemed daunting at first, but as I delved deeper, it became more manageable and even enjoyable. Over time, I noticed a remarkable improvement in my reading speed and comprehension, which was a pleasant surprise.

One of the most significant aspects of this module was the practical application of research methods in everyday conversations. I found myself quoting my findings and insights during discussions with friends and family, which felt both strange and gratifying. This unexpected integration of academic knowledge into daily life highlighted the relevance and impact of the skills and information I was acquiring.

Observation
Throughout the semester, I observed a noticeable shift in my approach to research and reading. Initially, the sheer volume of information and the complexity of academic texts seemed overwhelming. However, as I progressed through the module, I developed a more systematic and efficient approach to research. Setting up tools like Google Scholar and utilizing Taylor's library system became second nature, and these resources proved invaluable in accessing credible and relevant information.

Another significant observation was the importance of continuous learning and adaptation. The feedback from instructors and peers played a crucial role in refining my research methods and improving the quality of my work. The iterative process of research, feedback, and revision helped me develop a more critical and analytical mindset, which is essential for any researcher.

Findings
The main takeaways from this module were both specific to the research content and broader in terms of personal development. On a content level, I gained a deep understanding of various research methodologies and their applications in design. Learning about coercion versus persuasion, for example, provided valuable insights into how different strategies can influence behavior and decision-making. The exploration of societal norms and corporate behaviors further enriched my knowledge and sparked a keen interest in the ethical implications of design.

One of the most significant discoveries was the realization of how crucial it is to know how to find relevant information. Setting up Google Scholar and mastering the use of Taylor's library system were instrumental in this regard. These tools not only facilitated my research for the module but also laid the groundwork for future academic and professional endeavors. The ability to efficiently locate and evaluate sources is a foundational skill that will undoubtedly benefit me in various contexts.

Reflecting on the overall experience, it's clear that the Design Research Methods module is an essential component of any design education. While it comes with its share of frustrations and challenges, the benefits far outweigh the drawbacks. The skills and knowledge gained from this module will stay with me for a long time, serving as a solid foundation for future research and design projects.

In conclusion, this semester has been a transformative journey in learning design research methods. The experience, though initially intimidating, proved to be immensely rewarding. Observing my growth in reading, research, and critical thinking was a testament to the module's effectiveness. The findings, both in terms of content and personal development, have equipped me with valuable tools and insights that will guide my future endeavors. Despite the occasional dread and boredom, the overall impact of this module has been profoundly positive, leaving a lasting impression on my educational pathway.
